With a background in diplomacy and strategic communication, Paramita’s coaching builds on an approach grounded in authentic leadership, multicultural perspectives, and a rich experience in personal growth. She works across multiple sectors – private, public, and not-for-profit.
International Background
Paramita’s initial career in diplomacy gave her the geopolitical and geostrategic knowledge which underpin decisions in the global economy in which businesses operate today. After resigning from the Foreign Service, Paramita moved into the world of consulting, more specifically helping diplomatic missions which are accredited to the EU Institutions to express their policies to leaders with influence and impact.
These diplomatic missions were mainly from the Asia-Pacific Region which were on the rise through the 80’s and 90’s.
During the mid-90’s into the early millenium years, following the liberalisation of the Indian markets she consulted with companies in India and Europe to set up partnerships, especially in the fields of software services, high-tech and biotechnology. She was invited by the Confederation of Indian Industry to represent them to the EU Institutions from 2001 to 2003. She moved to coaching in 2001.
How Paramita works
(in the words of a CFO of a US engineering company)
Paramita has a deep knowledge of the international world and can merge, because of her experience and personal history, the Eastern and Western approaches to business and life. This brings the executive she is working with, the possibility to evaluate challenges, and therefore to act, within a more open mindset and always taking into consideration different cultural behaviors and business models.
She has a strong educational and theoretical background, hence she wonderfully accomplishes the task of combining theory and practice. Her work is therefore practical and always well structured: a session with Paramita thus becomes specific, personalized and, very important, repeatable, as one is left with all the necessary tools to find the right solution in similar circumstances.
An executive is a transformed person after the ‘Paramita experience’. More self-assured and grounded at the same time, he or she is able to communicate better and more efficiently within and outside the organization, hence driving trust and spontaneous collaboration with the team, peers and customers, which leads to better measurable performance. This is even more appreciated when the organization is crossing critical and stressful challenges.
Moreover, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a personal experience rarely found in a coach that allow her to be as much a mentor as a coach to senior leaders. She has had wide international experience and exposure to high level executives and public figures which makes it easy for her to understand and relate to the challenges that an executive is facing and/or will be facing.
